If you are a fan of torrents, you are probably familiar with IP blocklists. They shield a list of IPs from pinging your computer and getting your IP. If you have no idea what I just said, you are normal. It basically means that you are invisible to people trying to harvest your IP, “people” most likely being spammers, hackers, or government agents.

These IP blocklists can be integrated with popular torrenting software, like Vuze.

However I recently noticed that the most popular mirror for the autodownload of IP blocklists was down. Not sure why, but it is now located here:

You must manually download it for some reason.

Me and Brion have compiled a list of gifts that actually serve a useful purpose, and won’t eat your wallet. Each gift idea has a link that was handpicked by either me or Brion. Not in any particular order.

1. A computer monitor. Got a crappy monitor? Get a new one. . $170.

2. A wireless router. Get wireless internet in your house. It’ll go great with the laptop you don’t have! . $54.

3. A webcam. See obscene pictures of your daughter on the internet in no time! Maybe you’ll even get a promotion at work! $30.

4. A wireless keyboard and mouse. If you are still using wired technology, you suck. Stop sucking and buy this. I’m using this keyboard right now. Be cool like me. $30.

5. A digital photo frame. The perfect gift for someone who actually enjoys looking at their family. (Note: for this frame you will need a memory card. there’s links on the product information page.) $40.

6. Speakers. They can be used for anything- your TV, computer, ipod, CD player, etc. Protip- Bose is overrated, unless you’re willing to spend a buttload of money. I have speakers similar to the ones in the link, and they have been going strong for about a year and a half now. The subwoofer can shake the walls if set to maximum. $63.

7. A DVD player. They play DVDs. They make you happy. Chances are that yours is broken. Get a new one. This particular DVD player supports upscaling, so it can make non-HD DVDs look better. $50.

8. A toolset. Have all your tools in one place instead of strewn about the house! $40.

9. A rotary tool. I got one of these, they’re intense. You can grind, sand, cut, trim, and make holes in things. What more could you want? $60.

10. A digital camera. It takes pictures. It’s about two times better than 1080p resolution, so it’s extremely high def. $150.

11. An mp3 player. Get a Zune to replace your broken iPod! In fact, never buy another Mac product in your entire life. Show you are unique with this awesome Zune. It plays videos too, and has WiFi! $225.

12. A shaver. Shave your hideous moustache. You might think it’s cool, but your coworkers call you Mildew Man, because your moustache always breeds disgusting sweat. Oh god, turn away right now, I can’t even bear to look at it. KILL IT WITH FIRE! $70.

13. A vacuum. Tell someone to clean up their act. EEEHEEHEHEHEHHEHHEHEH. This vacuum is hardcore like a boar in a moor. It’s intended to kill everything in your carpet and leave it begging for mercy. It also gets WiFi, makes coffee, and can do your taxes. $140.

14. A Bluetooth headset. You can’t use your phone in the car without a headset in California. Buy this. Even though it’s made by Nokia, it will work with any phone that supports bluetooth! $30.

15. Rechargeable batteries. Everyone loves them, and they go great with anything that uses batteries! They will also save energy and shit. Brion has these, and they are extreme. I have a lust for them. $30-$40.

I was just checking my email to see if my nukes computer components were shipped yet, and I saw this on the front page of aol.com.

If you idiots knew how to seperate church and state, there would be less of this stupid petty bickering on minute details such as this. If Obama regularly attended church, I would be worried. If he regularly prayed to a god, it could be argued that he could not solve his own problems, and needed a larger father figure in his life to make his decisions. This would lead the American empire to collapse.

Steam Gaming Client Innovates Against Piracy

Most video gamers know about a gaming client called “Steam,” made by Valve. It’s a computer program that acts as a marketplace for video games. You can buy and preorder a lot of games from the program. There is a friends system and a profile system, so you can play games with your friends whenever you want.

Anyways- they are having some awesome ideas for preventing video game piracy. Often before they release a new game, they will offer preorders, and if it’s for a game in a series (such as GTA 4,) they’ll give you a previous GTA game for free, right when you preorder it. Also, with Left4Dead, they released a 2-level demo for everyone who preordered it, so they could get a sneak peek at the game before it was even released.

While this of course will not stop piracy, it will prevent it a little- A lot of my friends preordered Left4Dead, just so they could play the demo with their friends who were already playing it. Steam knows how to please a gamer- give them free stuff.

By the way, Left4Dead is gay.

Computer Upgrade.

I upgraded my computer last weekend.

It was hard as hell.

I upgraded my video card from an 8600 GTS to a Radeon HD 4870 (if you know what that means, good for you.) Unfortunately, my computer case wasn’t big enough to fit the card, because it’s huge. And my motherboard couldn’t fit it either by like half an inch. So I had to get a new motherboard AND case, just to get my video card in. Cost me like $300 total. I had a gift certificate for half of the video card.

I didn’t know that my old hard drive wouldn’t be compatible with my new motherboard, so I had to go through hell messing with the BIOS and such. Blah blah, computer butts, blah blah. After all that, I had to wipe my whole hard drive, but I backed up my important stuff.

Anyways, the card works great noaw. Plays all games at over 9000 frames per second with full settings. Except Crysis, because Crysis is gay.

Obama has successfully beat McCain in the presidential projections!

Remember- he hasn’t actually won yet, that’s just the prediction. BUT HOLY BALLS.

Right now, at 8:17 pm on the 4th, he passed the 270 mark and is now at 297 333 electoral votes and is way ahead of McCain at only 146.

Code Pink, a radical group of feminist “reformers”, have been quoted

as saying that they “support the death of troops in Iraq”. While their identity may be slightly

obscure, they do provide a convenient section on their site (http://www.codepink4peace.org)

to explain their motives, part of which states:

CODEPINK is a women-initiated grassroots peace and social

justice movement working to end the war in Iraq, stop new wars, and redirect

our resources into health care, education and other life-affirming activities.

Their methods haven’t yet proven fruitful. I’m not surprised.
