Most video gamers know about a gaming client called “Steam,” made by Valve. It’s a computer program that acts as a marketplace for video games. You can buy and preorder a lot of games from the program. There is a friends system and a profile system, so you can play games with your friends whenever you want.

Anyways- they are having some awesome ideas for preventing video game piracy. Often before they release a new game, they will offer preorders, and if it’s for a game in a series (such as GTA 4,) they’ll give you a previous GTA game for free, right when you preorder it. Also, with Left4Dead, they released a 2-level demo for everyone who preordered it, so they could get a sneak peek at the game before it was even released.

While this of course will not stop piracy, it will prevent it a little- A lot of my friends preordered Left4Dead, just so they could play the demo with their friends who were already playing it. Steam knows how to please a gamer- give them free stuff.

By the way, Left4Dead is gay.

I upgraded my computer last weekend.

It was hard as hell.

I upgraded my video card from an 8600 GTS to a Radeon HD 4870 (if you know what that means, good for you.) Unfortunately, my computer case wasn’t big enough to fit the card, because it’s huge. And my motherboard couldn’t fit it either by like half an inch. So I had to get a new motherboard AND case, just to get my video card in. Cost me like $300 total. I had a gift certificate for half of the video card.

I didn’t know that my old hard drive wouldn’t be compatible with my new motherboard, so I had to go through hell messing with the BIOS and such. Blah blah, computer butts, blah blah. After all that, I had to wipe my whole hard drive, but I backed up my important stuff.

Anyways, the card works great noaw. Plays all games at over 9000 frames per second with full settings. Except Crysis, because Crysis is gay.

Obama has successfully beat McCain in the presidential projections!

Remember- he hasn’t actually won yet, that’s just the prediction. BUT HOLY BALLS.

Right now, at 8:17 pm on the 4th, he passed the 270 mark and is now at 297 333 electoral votes and is way ahead of McCain at only 146.
