I was going to make an amazing joke in English class today, but I didn’t get the chance. So I’m saying it now.

So my teacher is pregnant, and she’s going away in a couple weeks to have her baby. In the time she’s gone, we’re gonna have a substitute teacher. She was saying she wanted to get in as much work as she could before she had to leave to have her baby.

“I’m just trying to squeeze everything in before I have to go,” she said.

So you’re trying to squeeze everything in before you squeeze everything out?

Well I’m back in school and brion has been all summer. I’m taking advanced photography and advanced digital design this year, I’ll try to make some cool stuff.

In other news, I got a flickr because I suck. Check it out here. I can’t upload all my winner photos because they limit your uploads to one byte a fucking lifetime, but I’ll see what I can put up. That flickr will probably be the main place I post photos until I can get a real gallery set up that will generate its own traffic.

I am hardcore busy, but The Lugz is better than school so I’ll make time.

Intolerance Is Gay

SCIENCE

I was surfing Stumbleupon out of sheer boredness and came across this stupid picture.

It was part of a series of photos of a pro-gay-marriage rally.

I love pointing out incorrect rally signs, but this one was a little too easy.

Hate is not a choice. People who are anti-gay are intolerant, not hateful. Most anti-gay individuals were raised in non-liberal areas, so they didn’t get the same experience of individual equality that I did growing up in the Bay Area. Chances are they “hate” homosexuals just because their friends or peers do.

This gives hate a bad name. The word “hate” should not be associated with the absent-minded and ignorant concept of intolerance of gays. I have a lot of hate in me, yet I accept homosexuals as people. There’s really no reason not to, it’s just a different lifestyle. Intolerance is usually based on ignorance or misunderstanding. Hate is based on a recognition of an absolute, justified flaw and an intense, festering dislike for it. Take Bush for example. I tolerated Bush, but I hated him. I am intolerant of deer jumping in front of my car on a narrow road late at night because I don’t understand what they are thinking. Well that and the fact that they are stupid fucking deer.

Anyways, hate is not a choice, it is a mindset. Intolerance is a choice. But one thing I do hate is a sea of picket signs with flawed or debatable logic in each of their “spiffy” one-liners.

Here’s a one-liner I would use on a sign:

intolerance is gay
